Job Announcement: Children's Representation Project Fellowship

Position Summary:

The Children’s Representation Project Attorney will be responsible for providing direct legal representation in immigration and related proceedings for unaccompanied immigrant children. The attorney also will be responsible for providing assistance to pro se children and families appearing on the Denver Immigration Court Docket, and helping to coordinate referrals to pro bono attorneys. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide direct representation to approximately 50 children in immigration removal proceedings, as well as before USCIS and state court proceedings related to a child’s immigration case.  

  • Provide know-your-rights presentations at the Denver Immigration Court. 

  • Conduct thorough intakes with children and their family members to ascertain immigration options. 

  • Assist with referrals of children and families to pro bono legal counsel. 

  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders. 

  • Assume general administrative responsibilities, including grant compliance, timekeeping, and case management.
