Immigrant Liberty Awards
Each year, RMIAN organizes an event, the Immigrant Liberty Awards, that honors the outstanding contributions of immigrants and exceptional advocates in our community and celebrates our shared efforts in creating a more just society.
The 2019 Immigrant Liberty Awards, themed "We All Belong," will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019, at the Seawell Ballroom in Denver. The event will feature a dinner, a silent & live auction, and the Immigrant Liberty Awards ceremony. Tickets for the 2019 event can be purchased here. Awardees will be:
Harry Budisidharta, Chief Executive Officer at Asian Pacific Development Center
Julie Gonzales, Colorado State Senator for District 34
Juan Pérez Sáez, Energy and Climate Campaign Manager at The Wilderness Society
Law firm WilmerHale will be honored with the 10th annual Pro Bono Service Award
Doors open and registration begins promptly at 5:30pm.
In 2018, the following community members were honored with Immigrant Liberty Awards:
Maytham Alshadood, Founder, Denver Refugee and Immigration Vitalization and Empowerment (DRIVE) Project
Judge Cindy Dang, Vietnamese Refugee, Adams County Court Judge
Paul Stein, Co-Founder of Colorado African Organization & Community Enterprise Development Services, and former Colorado State Refugee Coordinator
Dr. Janine Young, Medical Director, Denver Health Refugee Clinic, will be awarded the 10th Annual Pro Bono Service Award
